Ingatestone, Essex

Fusion Joinery was part of a multi-million pound upgrade to the historic Ingatestone station for Amco Rail which was officially opened by Railway Heritage Trust in April 2017.

The £24 million scheme has seen renovation and restoration to station buildings and platform canopies, the creation of a new waiting room, electrical improvements to make it more energy efficient and upgrades to customer toilet facilities.

Platform 2 saw a disused ticket office renovated into a coffee shop and waiting room with disabled access toilets.

The station is a Grade II listed building and is one of the first conservation areas to be designated in Essex. The project required our skilled craftsmen to use their knowledge and experience to bring this station back to life, applying sensitivity and respect in keeping with the building's heritage. Our team worked tirelessly on this project to achieve tight deadlines, adhering to strict health and safety guidelines while ensuring minimal disruption was achieved to the general public.

In 2016 Amco was the winner of ‘Innovation of the year' at the National Rail Awards.
